As a partner of Designers’ Saturday, Luce di Carrara played a significant role in this year’s awards, providing the iconic stone bases for the trophies designed by Jonas Ravlo Stokke. Continuing his longstanding collaboration with Norway’s leading design event, Stokke created the Designers’ Saturday Awards 2025 trophies, reaffirming his commitment to highlighting the hidden beauty of everyday industrial materials.
For this edition, the trophies are inspired by his Off the Shelf (OTS) project, which utilizes standard components from the design and construction industries aluminum profiles, rebar, ventilation ducts reinterpreted and transformed into unique sculptural pieces. By incorporating these essential elements, the trophies pay tribute to often overlooked, modest yet fundamental parts of our built environment. Each trophy rests on a solid stone base, one of the oldest materials in architectural history, carefully selected and cut by Luce di Carrara from its own quarries. Together, these elements embody Stokke’s design philosophy: to create measurable value whether aesthetic, functional, or commercial through locally rooted production, grounded in expertise and oriented toward the future.
