Creating new balances between past and present becomes an exercise in style, giving life to spaces born from a deep understanding of the context and in dialogue with the essence of the places and the materials that define them. The firm, founded in Florence in 1980, has over forty years of experience in the development of projects in the fields of architecture, landscape, interior, and product design. Now led by Massimo Pierattelli together with his sons Andrea and Claudio and a team of 20 professionals, the studio strengthened its presence in Italy in 2022 by opening a new office in Milan, with ongoing projects such as the Poste Italiane Learning Center and two single-family residences. Initially specialized in designing bank and corporate headquarters, over the years the studio has stood out for its environmentally conscious approach, promoting thoughtful transformation. This style — defined by formal simplicity and local materials — is also reflected in its residential and hospitality projects, where the past, with its historical layers, merges with the present and its contemporary uses and functions. Among these: YellowSquare in Florence, which redefined the concept of the contemporary hostel, and Pieve Aldina, a boutique hotel in Chianti and part of the Relais & Châteaux collection, created from the renovation of a former 12th-century bishop’s complex. With an eye toward innovation, Pierattelli Architetture designs spaces that combine tradition, aesthetics, functionality, and environmental sensitivity, reinforcing its identity within the contemporary architectural landscape.
