Versilia’s Character, Expressed in Stone
Versilys is born in Versilia, between the sea and the Apuan Alps. It is a land where light is constantly changing: dawn is milky and soft, the afternoon turns golden, and by evening the sky takes on delicate pink tones. This continuous movement of light is etched into the stone itself. Versilys is not a uniform or static marble. It is a living material that reflects the landscape from which it comes. The name was chosen by Paolo Carli for this very reason: to honor the territory and capture it in matter. Versilys is an expression of belonging, a way to carry the identity of Versilia into every project.
Gold, Pink and Clouded Depths
Its uniqueness lies in its chromatic variations. The slabs may reveal cooler shades, light and soft like clouds, or be crossed by warmer veins that shift toward gold and pink tones. No two slabs are ever the same; each block reveals a different balance of light, depth and movement.
This controlled unpredictability is what makes it remarkably versatile. In a minimalist project it conveys quiet elegance; in more material and expressive environments it naturally becomes the focal point. Its shifting tones allow for sophisticated pairings with metals, dark woods or contemporary surfaces, adapting effortlessly while never losing its identity.
